Rev. Adeoluwa Jaiyesimi - President NSP from 2008-2012The Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy under the leadership of NSP President, Reverend Adeoluwa Jaiyesimi, took a very bold and unpredented step of formally launching the National Postgraduate Physiotherpay College of Nigeria (NPPCN) during the just concluded 52nd Annual Scientific Conference and Annual General Meeting. The NPPCN is a dream realized for Nigerian Physiotherapists who for close to two decades now, had been yearning for post-professional training along specialty lines. The birth of the NPPCN heralds the clinical residency training in Physiotherapy specialties. The NPPCN is set up to advance the professional development and progression of Nigerian physiotherapists by advocating, designing and implementing pathways for clinical specialization and professional development.

The NPPCN will be taking off with seven faculties (or divisions) within the College:
  1. Cardiopulmonary Physiotherapy
  2. Community Physiotherapy
  3. NeuoPhysiotherapy and Mental health
  4. Orthopaedic Physiotherapy
  5. Paediatric Physiotherapy
  6. Sports Physiotherapy
  7. Women's Health
The Fellowship of the NPPCN shall be awarded to professionals who succeed in the qualifying examination after completing the residency training programme in the respective specialty. Candidates are also required to complete a Professional Development Portfolio (PDP) according to the requirements of the specialty area. Nigerian physiotherapists are encouraged to take advantage of this golden opportunity for personal development and self actualisation.
